One Step Up

Skills for Learning to Learn

About the project

Learning to learn

"Learning to Learn" is an approach that helps young people to maximize their learning outcomes and to update and improve their skills, so they can progress in the learning process. Why is learning to learn so important? In a constantly changing labor and life environment, young people from disadvantaged categories have to rely on skills and competences that can adapt to different contexts and can make them succeed.

General Aim

The general aim of the project is to ensure better chances for young people in rural areas and urban periphery areas to become aware of the learning process and to develop the transversal learning to learn competence. The project is developed as a tailored solution to the needs related to the learning to learn competence expressed at local and regional level by youth workers and young people în the countries and regions of the partner countries.

Target Group

The project is oriented towards beneficiaries as the main focus lays on developing training tools for youth workers in the field of the transversal competence of learning to learn and on offering support to young people from rural areas and from urban periphery to learn to learn as a solution for a better professional and personal future. Youth workers will be participating in creating intellectual outputs and testing them through trainings (trainings both for youth workers and young people).

  • Objective 1

Analyze the definition and different (cultural) understandings of learning to learn and to identify the needs related to the learning process of young people in the 5 communities involved in the project, over a period of 24 months.

  • Objective 2

To make the learning to learn competence more operational together with the direct target groups – youth workers and young people in disadvantaged areas from the 5 communities involved in the project, over a period of 24 months.

  • Objective 3

To design and validate training tools and materials of ‘skills for life and work’ during the project to be used within the partnership for direct and indirect beneficiaries.
